Reading YMCA 4 Taplow 0
Drew

Reading YMCA bounced back from a disappointing defeat at Unity the previous week to earn a superb 4-0 win over Taplow Utd.

YM dominated the 1st half although it was Taplow who had the first chance when a midfielder raced on to a cross only to drill over the bar from the edge of the box.  Had that chance gone in the game could well have been different but instead YM were camped in Taplow's half for much of the 1st period and created chances at regular intervals with the midfield trip of Chris Lemm, Adam Cayzer and Drew Tipper at the heart of everything.

YM soon took the lead through a smart finish from striker Sam Jennings before a Johnny Adey header deflected off Danny Fitzpatrick into the net.

Taplow started the 2nd half well and again had a great chance to score when a midfielder found himself in a good position only to spurn the opportunity.  But, after that, the pattern of the 1st half continued with YM on top without quite replicating their football of the 1st half.

Player manager Mark Lemm made the game safe on 60 minutes with a towering header and Martin Abery rounded off the scoring when he beat the keeper and slotted into the empty net.
