YM players Drew Tipper and Tim Sidwell were left frustrated at the weekend as the rep game scheduled for saturday was called off on thursday night. The Hampshire team who beat Dorset in the previous round are alleged to have fielded an ineligible player and therefore the FA are set to investigate. The bi-annual competition is open to players who aren't, and have never been, under contract to any club in their career. If Hants are have found to breached the rules then the game could be replayed or Dorset will gain a walkover. The Reading League will play the winners when the investigation is complete. |

Reading YMCA Rapids' winless run extended to 4 games as they suffered a comprehensive 4-0 defeat to Bell & Bottle. Apart from a 15 minute spell at the end of the 1st half, the Rapids were never really in the game and they found themselves 2-0 down at half-time. The Rapids missed a chance to pull a goal back when substitute Mark Lemm shot straight at the keeper with 20 minutes remaining and it proved costly as Bottle scored 2 further goals to complete the scoring. Rapids boss Paul O'Boyle said "We were never really in this game and can have no complaints about the result. We're in a bit of a rut at the moment but we've had a tough start to the season and our next couple of games are really important as we badly need a win."
