Reading YMCA began the new campaign with a comfortable win over newcomers Highmoor IBIS Res.
YM started slowly and the home team were edging play in the opening minutes but YM gradually went through the gears and began to create chances at regular intervals. Livewire Leon Mannion and Sam Jennings both tested stand-in keeper Aaron Baker before Johnny Adey raced on to a long ball to slot the ball home after Baker saved the initial effort.
The 2nd soon followed when an exquisite pass from Drew Tipper found Adey who rounded Baker before tapping in.
YM played some excellent stuff for the remainder of the half without finding the clinical finish that they play deserved.
The 2nd half was alot more subdued with both sides happy to knock the ball around without really pressing for an equaliser. A 3rd goal did come YM's way on 75mins when sub Chris Lemm robbed Callum Gallimore on the byline and then picked out debutant Jon Finnieston who sidefooted home.
Both sides had chances to score in the final minutes with a Highmoor player missing an open goal and YM keeper Chris Rackley forced into tip a mis-hit cross on to the bar.
