Reading YMCA 1 Woodcote SR 6
Lemmy

Reading YMCA came back down to earth after their opening day win by receiving a thumping from title favourites Woodcote/Stoke Row.

After a superb early strike from Man of the Match Toby Nowell it was all one-way traffic save for a brief spell after the break and it could have easily been worse for YM with Woodcote missing a penalty, hitting an upright and having several other good chances only to be denied by a top draw display from keeper Chris Rackley.

Woodcote took a 4-0 lead into the half-time break and with YM having to bring on their only sub, manager Mark Lemm for the injured Rob Lee, damage limitation was the sole incentive in the second period.  YM actually forged some good chances at the start of the half but Woodcote keeper Nick Bovingdon proved equal to the task whilst the Woodcote defence were excellent throughout.

Woodcote did make it 5-0 midway through the half before Adam Cayzer pulled a goal back after a Chris Lemm shot hit the woodwork.  But Woodcote snatched another near the end to earn a 6-1 scoreline that by no means flattered the visitors.
