The Rapids made the long trip to Sandhurst with just the bare 11 but, despite the adverse weather conditions, found a pitch in perfect condition.   The Rapids were missing Sidwell, Rolfe, Mark Isley, Kenny and Nangla amongst others but the postponement of the 1st team's game allowed them to draft in Mark Lemm and Jamie Froude.

The Rapids started well and David Simmonds and Alan Ilsley both spurned excellent chances before the lively Simmonds was played through by Darren Cornell before rounding the keeper and slotting into the empty net.

But despite their defensive frailties, Sandhurst were looking dangerous in attack and equalized shortly afterwards.  The Rapids were then left shellshocked when YM old boy Dean Williams gave his side the lead after a near post prod.  Both sides were creating chances whilst looking vulnerable in defence but it was the Rapids who grabbed the next goal when MOM Steve Daly found the overlapping Chris Leach who beat the Sandhurst keeper Dan Ball at the near post.

But the scoring had not finished and poor marking from the Rapids defence allowed a Sandhurst striker time and space to run unchallenged into the YM area where he calmly chipped the ball over the advancing keeper james Phillips.

The omens did not look good for the Rapids in the 2nd half with skipper Steve Woodrow forced to hobble round the pitch after pulling a hamstring and Lemm also struggling badly with a hamstring injury.  The pattern continued from the 1st half with both sides looking capable of adding to their goal tally but both defences having to defend desperately to avoid conceeding.

Cornell hit the bar shortly after the break and other good chances went begging.  Then with 5 minutes left to go Lemm, who moved himself up front, was brought down in the box but the referee ruled there had been no foul.  Incensed, the Rapids found some energy and eventually forced an equalizer when a superb through ball from Hayden Brown found Simmonds who showed great composure to slot past the Sandhurst keeper.
