YM Rapids suffered their second straight defeat to leave their title challenge hanging by a thread after their 3rd game in 5 days. Both sides went in to the match with strong line ups but some comical defending cost YM's second string the chance to close the gap on Turnpike Sports. It was the away side that started the brighter and nearly took the lead on 10 minutes but for an excellent challenge by Adam Cassidy. Steve Woodrow then turned provider as his corner was met by Tim Sidwell to crash home the opener. Instead of spurring YM on it was the away side that took control and equalised on 20 minutes when Cassidy headed back to his keeper only to see an away striker nip in and slot the ball home. Corinthians then added a second on 35 minutes against the run of play to send YM in to the break a goal down. The second period got off to the best of starts when Sidwell played Dave Morrison in and the hitman cooly slotted the ball home to level the scores. YM went in search of the winner but soon let in a thrid when some more inept defending let the men in white take the lead. Some tough tackling from Ryan Tipper spurred the home side on and Drew Tipper came closest when his header came back off the crossbar and safely in the keeprs arms. Woodrow, Sidwell and Morrison all had chances to find the all important goal but the away side held out and took the points which could see the Rapids title charge falter with 9 games to go.
