YM First Team
The 2010/11 season saw YM finish 4th after a fine finish to a difficult season. Mark Lemm had lost various of the title winning side to travelling, injuries and transfers, but assembled a strong squad that more than held its own without really mounting a serious challenge. Back to back title wins have not been achieved since the days of Forest and Mortimer, and it has become a trend that the season following a title win can be a difficult one, so full credit to Mark for keeping the side in the top 4.
This season has seen the return of 3/4 influential players including Ben Green, Danny Fitzpatrick and Johnny Adey which will add strength and goal scoring power to the YM squad, looking to mount another assult on the Senior division title. They will have their work cut out though, as the Reading Football League look to cement their status an FA step 7 league, introducing a 14 team division for the first time in the leagues history. The full breakdown can be found on the tables page which contains the constitution for the 11/12 season. Boss Mark Lemm will be quietly confident of mounting a challenge and believes YM may surprise a few sides that believe they were a one season wonder, after a strong pre season showing.
YM Rapids
YM's second string have once again been promoted to the Premier Division after finishing 4th in division 1 last season. With the league re-structure taking place, a few teams have been 'shunted up' a division and it was felt YM Rapids are well equiped to deal with premier football. Last season boss Tim Sidwell guided the side to 4th place after a fair share of ups and downs, but the long serving YM player has had to step down as boss paving the way for club legend Steve Woodrow, and Rapids stalwart Mark Ilsley to take the reigns.
Mark and Steve will work together this season and are excited about the forthcoming challenge, looking forward to the 4th promotion in as many seasons. They have kept a large section of last years squad and will be looking to add players in order to make the step up and challenge at a higher level. If any players are interested in trialling with YM Rapids then please contact Mark or Steve.
