Reading YMCA FC were formed in 1896 and are one of the oldest clubs in the Reading area.

The YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association) movement is a registered charity known throughout the world and focuses on providing activities and support for young people.  Reading's YMCA is based in Parkside Road, Tilehurst and provides accommodation for over 50 residents, works with people who have drug and alcohol problems, funds aid workers overseas and hosts a variety of activities.

Although the football club is affiliated to Reading's YMCA organisation the club is open to everyone and recruits players in the same way as all other local football teams.

The Reading YMCA 1st team play in the Reading Senior League which is Step 7 standard and is part of the National League Pyramid which culminates in the Premiership!

The 1st team plays home games at Reading Town's Scours Ground in Tilehurst and are currently managed by long-serving player Mark Lemm.  The Rapids are managed by YM stalwart, Paul O'Boyle and play their home games at Pangbourne Rec.

General manager, Lindsey Edwards overseas the whole of the football club and his 30 year involvement with the YMCA movement gives us stability and offers us a vital link between the YMCA organisation and the football club.

Reading YMCA FC have enjoyed their fair share of success over the years and the current management set-up is fiercely ambitious to move the club forward but the priority for us is that we are a friendly club where players enjoy playing football."
